"what if?" Capital One is looking for an experienced Authentication
Engineer to help drive the cloud first enterprise directory
strategy forward for the Identity and Access Management
organization. - As a member of the Authentication Services Platform
team within Authentication Services, you will be responsible for
developing, engineering, deploying and supporting comprehensive
solutions. The Authentication Services Lead Platform Engineer will
also be responsible for identifying opportunities for the
automation of tasks, processes, or entire solutions in Capital
One's journey to cloud first authentication. This role is also
responsible for leading and driving initiatives as well as
identifying any opportunities for improvement in the cloud first
environment. What you'll do:
- Analyze, design, and support a highly complex, enterprise level
cloud directory and Single Sign On services in a hybrid on-premise
and cloud hosted environment
- Manage enterprise cloud based identity directories including
Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), AWS Microsoft AD, AWS
Identity Center, and Google Cloud Identity Platform
- Manage enterprise cloud infrastructures in AWS, Azure, and
Google cloud platforms
- Translate business needs into workable technology solutions
that meet the needs of internal customers
- Participate in or lead troubleshooting and incident resolution
of complex, high severity incidents
- Develop automated solutions using scripts, pipelines, and cloud
based server-less computing platforms
- Develop detailed architecture, standards, design, and
implementation documentation
- Analyze the current Authentication Services environment to
identify both technical and operational opportunities and develop
continuous improvement action plans
- Participate in disaster recovery, capacity planning,
performance monitoring and maintenance to ensure high
availability
- Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
- At least 6 years of experience in cybersecurity or information
technology
- At least 3 years of experience with engineering, operational
support, or implementation of identity or directory services
- At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure
Active Directory)
- At least 1 year of experience with Google Cloud Platform or
Google Workspace Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of experience with engineering, operational support,
and implementation of identity or directory services
- 5+ years of experience with Azure AD Connect installation,
troubleshooting, and administration
- 5+ years of experience with Cloud Infrastructure
management
- 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Entra ID or Google Cloud
Platform
- 2+ years of experience developing complex scripts in
PowerShell, MS Graph, VBScript, YAML, Python or other languages to
develop automated solutions At this time, Capital One will not

this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this
salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work
within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One
is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for
part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number
of hours to be regularly worked. New York City (Hybrid On-Site):
$201,400 - $229,900 for Manager, Cyber Technical San Francisco,
California (Hybrid On-Site): $213,400 - $243,500 for Manager, Cyber
Technical Candidates hired to work in other locations will be
subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the
actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the
time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer
letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based
incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or
long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or
