The team brings expertise within the insurance investor segment to deliver WFAM------s asset management capabilities that address the specific needs of insurance general account and retirement assets. The Insurance Group partners closely with the Solutions and Portfolio Management teams within WFAM to deliver integrated solutions that effectively balance return, yield, risk and regulatory capital requirements. -- --Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to two Insurance Client Advisors/Strategists (Advisors), the VP Insurance Relationship and Business Development Relationship Manager will provide ongoing support and management of the assigned insurance client, prospect, and consultant relationships. The Relationship Manager will contribute to the Insurance Group------s achievement of one of the company------s top strategic business priorities. The Relationship Manager will have dual responsibility for the proactive management of all aspects of their assigned current client and prospective client relationships. This includes, but is not limited to, the creation and production of sales presentation materials, client reporting, daily client service needs, cross-selling support, consultant due diligence requirements, meeting coordination and scheduling, and the custom ongoing sales and relationship management needs of their Advisors. He/she/they will partner closely with, and take guidance from, their Advisors, working in tandem to ensure alignment and help them achieve and exceed their client retention and new business development goals.The Relationship Manager will support two advisors in the delivery of the firm------s diverse suite of global investment solutions in answer to client needs. She/he/they will work collaboratively with specialist portfolio management teams, and the multi-asset insurance solutions team, to deliver exceptional client service, reporting, consultant support, and business development support to maintain the firm------s position as a best-in-class provider to insurance companies. The Relationship Manager will help direct the work of the Associate/Analyst team to execute all Advisor needs and will be ultimately responsible for the results of the entire team, and success of the client experience. The Relationship Manager will partner with their Advisors to maintain and develop a select number of key client relationships. The Relationship Manager will assume tremendous responsibility and visibility, both internally and externally, and will be expected to make significant individual contributions to the experience of their Advisors, colleagues, clients and prospects.Job DescriptionSpecific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • For a defined list of insurance companies assigned to two Advisors, including clients and prospects, support every aspect of the new business development and relationship management efforts across all the investment services offered by Wells Fargo.
  • Manage the establishment and onboarding of new client relationships working together with portfolio and client services team in all aspects including development of investment guidelines, execution of the Investment Management Agreement (IMA) and all relevant documents, and fully understanding client expectations for reporting and ongoing service.
  • Manage every aspect of client service delivery the assigned book of relationships including but not limited to daily client inquiries, client reporting and analytics, creating customized reports working closely with Clearwater representatives and WFAM------s PRMA team, collaboration with and coordination of colleagues, scheduling and logistics of all client meetings (including regular portfolio reviews) and custom client material content and creation.
  • Ensure complete client profiles are created and maintained in the CRM system (currently Satuit) including all contact information, relevant reference documents, and activities.
  • Manage and deliver sales meeting materials, meeting logistics, database entry, RFP production, and the coordination of customized prospect needs.
  • Participate with Advisors in new product development in collaboration with the broader insurance team (including colleagues in business development, solutions, and with portfolio management teams) to engineer differentiated strategies to meet and exceed client objectives.
  • Fully understand the business, strategy and investment portfolios of each assigned insurance company utilizing the SNL database, company website, public filings, trade publications and other relevant sources to create a comprehensive client profile.
  • Provide Advisors with the necessary data and materials required to report regularly to WFAM management, including extensive detail about sales and relationship management activity, risks, and opportunities, and relationship development plans. --
  • Actively contribute to culture that values collaboration, partnership and putting client and firm interests ahead of one------s own personal agenda.
  • Achieve excellence by demonstrating high performance standards and pursuing business unit goals in the most ethical efficient manner.
  • Innovate to constantly find new efficiencies for the Advisors and broader Insurance Group to better serve clients, prospects, and consultants and to exceed expectations.

    Required Qualifications
    • 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: portfolio management, sales, marketing, or institutional relationship management

      Desired Qualifications
      • Extensive knowledge and understanding of investment industry: products, asset classes, and services
      • Solid knowledge and understanding of asset management industry and client types
      • Ability to hold consultative meetings and deliver solution oriented proposals
      • A Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation
      • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
      • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

        Other Desired Qualifications
        • Working knowledge of fixed income and equity investment strategies
        • A deep understanding of insurance and broader institutional client expectations
        • An understanding of some of the underlying actuarial, accounting, and regulatory issues that drive insurance investment management decision making
        • Three + years of insurance industry and/or third-party insurance asset management business development experience
        • Familiarity and basic working knowledge of industry-specific needs, constraints, and opportunities for insurance company CIOs
        • Ideally, an understanding of actuarial output, accounting treatment objectives, book yield optimization/or duration targets subject to NAIC RBC, S2, and/or S&P Insurance Capital constraints --
        • Demonstrated success operating in a close team environment and supporting clients, prospects, and/or consultants in the insurance channel of asset management
        • Client-centricity as a core tenet
        • An articulated and rigorous sales and relationship management support process
        • A track record of successful partnership with sales, relationship management, investment teams, operations, legal, marketing and other colleagues
        • The drive, self-awareness and humility to draw consensus across Wells Fargo in support of structuring creative solutions
        • Results-oriented with a strong service orientation, high energy, a sense of urgency, a strong work ethic

          Job Expectations
          • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
          • Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 120 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
          • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 120 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
