Job Description:
Description: The Paramedic (ALS) Supervisor's primary
responsibility is to ensure that at all times all Paramedic (ALS)
personnel comply with all state, federal and local guidelines in
order to maintain strict adherence to compliance. The Paramedic
(ALS) supervisor will also conduct training, support, counseling
and if needed discipline to Paramedic personnel in accordance with
NORCAL Polices.Paramedic (ALS) Supervisor Personnel will be
responsible for the following:Act in accordance with all company
policies and procedures.Maintain an exemplary attendance
record.Keep all certifications current and valid.Demonstrate
familiarity with county protocols for all respective LEMSAs
involving ALS delivery in the company service area.Make
recommendations regarding the paramedic training for continual
quality improvement and professional growth.Work with the Field
Training Officer staff to ensure proper training of new paramedics
and oversee all aspects of Paramedic (5 Call Training).Interface
with operational staff to ensure adequate resources meet the demand
for service and provide continual uninterrupted ALS service to
clientele.Interface with in-service ambulance crews to ensure
compliance with all company, Federal,State, and County protocols
and policies.Demonstrate a thorough understanding of company, and
LEMSA policies Regarding the use, distribution, destruction of and
documentation for approved controlled substances.Monitor and report
any immediate discrepancy regarding controlled substance log(s) in
to thePharmacy committee or representatives.Oversee log on/off
procedures and address questions or issues as necessary.Respond to
vehicle/patient/customer service incidents.Serve as a company
liaison with key stakeholders, clientele and regulatory
entities.Distribute marketing materials as needed Issue
disciplinary orders or corrective action forms.Performs essential
system support duties deemed necessary for continuity of
operations.Compile monthly Data reports respective to ALS
operations for disseminationReport clinical updates from LEMSAs and
distribute information about any significant changes or equipment
needs.Respond, if need be to any declared emergency such as an MCI,
ASTL request, or mutual aid.If needed deploy and lead strike team,
task force or requested mutual aid resource.Deploy from station and
regularly interface with ALS crewmembers in the field
settingDocument corrective action plans if necessaryPerform Quality
Assurance ride alongs and observe ALS personnel work habits.
Requirements:Must be an employee in good standing for no less than
two (2) years of serviceMust have a desire to enhance the company's
performance to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.Must have an
exceptional attendance record.Must have demonstrated sound
judgement, innovation, commitment to the team, and a desire to
serve.Must have excellent customer service skills.Demonstrate a
thorough understanding of company, Federal, State, and County
policies regarding the use, distribution, destruction of and
documentation for approved controlled substances.Must efficiently
and correctly maintain, oversee and store paramedic controlled
substances log(s) in compliance with DEA regulations.Must have
excellent oral and written communication skills.California Driver's
License in good standing with minimal DMV points.Current local
accreditation as a Paramedic in good standing, free from any
disciplinary issues with EMSA.Ability to obtain advanced ICS
training (300,400, ASTL)Must have reliable transportation to job
siteMust be able to communicate effectively with managerial staff,
dispatch and crewMust have a current certification as a Paramedic
in the State of CaliforniaPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Physical demands

required to use hands to perform medical procedures and
assessments, reach with hands and arms, and speak and hear. The
employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is required to
stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and
smell.The employee is required to maintain adequate physical
conditioning to be able to perform job duties.Job duties are often
performed at high stress levels requiring employee to function
effectively and independently while maintaining good working
relationships with partners, patients, and customers.The employee
must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, distance
vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to
adjust focus.Skills as required to practice as a Paramedic as
defined by assigned state scope of practiceSpecial Details include
Hospital Foundation Support, Clinical Rotations, and Collaborative
Training Sessions.
