Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: NICU
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in clinical experience, with 2 years in
specialty required. License: Current state nursing license
required. Certifications: NRP, CPR/BCLS required. Must-Have: Must
be very comfortable with level III neonates. Description: This
position involves working in a Level III NICU setting. The unit
specializes in the care of premature infants, those with
respiratory distress, and occasional postoperative patients.
Approximately 225 births occur monthly within this facility. The
nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 to 1:4, depending on patient acuity.
Travel nurses are expected to admit NICU patients. Neonatologists
are available during daytime hours for support. Pediatric
hospitalists are in-house after hours to manage emergencies until a
neonatologist arrives. Traveling nurses will be floating to
well-baby nursery as needed. Nurses are required to work four
weekend shifts per scheduling period and must be available for
select holidays. All nurses must adhere to designated dress code
and professional appearance standards. Documentation is managed
through an electronic system. Specific equipment used includes IMV
and HFOV ventilators with 24/7 respiratory support available.
Candidates are expected to be proficient with various unit-specific
procedures and protocols. This is a Magnet designated hospital.
