Buckelew Programs helps people in the North Bay with mental health, addiction, and related behavioral health challenges lead healthier, more independent lives, strengthening families and communities in the process. We tailor our treatment and support services to the unique needs of each individual, and we encourage the active collaboration of loved ones and other supporters. Within an adult residential facility and short-term crisis residential program, Mental Health Counselors work with adults with persistent mental illness, provide basic care and supervision; teach fundamental living and social and stabilization skills. Further, they ensure operations of the house; such as cooking, cleaning and maintaining supplies and provide assistance with medication inventory; scheduling client appointments, and transporting clients. Required Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, or Psychiatric Technician's License; or Registered Nurse or equivalent experience. Four or more years of experience in a mental health agency, at least two of which is in direct service, and the remainder, including some administrative or planning responsibilities. The ability to relate well with others, to balance many tasks and responsibilities simultaneously, to be empathetic, warm, consistent and supportive with clients. Requires computer and keyboarding skills as well as good written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work as a member of a team and to share information with those on other shifts. Must have valid California drivers' license and personal automobile for use on the job. Must be able to pass Live Scan, Office of Criminal Justice and Department of Social Services clearances. Capable of the following intermittent activities: stretching, bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting, reaching above and below the shoulder, pushing, pulling, grasping and lifting up to 40 pounds in weight. Physically capable of the following intermittent activities: walking, driving, writing, standing and sitting. This position requires fingerprint clearance from Community Care Licensing and a physical. Buckelew Programs does not allow for new CCL exemptions; however, will consider exemption transfers. Three Shifts Available: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (40 hours) Saturday - Wednesday 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm (40 hours) Thursday- Sunday 7:30 am - 3:30 pm (32 hours) Great Benefits: full medical, dental, vision, retirement savings plan, employee assistance program, life insurance and generous paid time off package.
