7:00a.m to 3:30p.m, 4 on/3 off rotation schedule, includes weekends and some holidays.
Renders professional nursing care to resident in our Health Center.
--- Administer medications according to physicians' orders
--- Provide treatment as established by physicians or supervisor
--- Responds to emergency situations and expedites indicated treatment, secure follow-up assistance
--- Make rounds with physicians and insure that changes in treatment are handled; visits residents at their requests or that of doctors to evaluate medical/emotional/nursing needs, pain management.
--- Informs Manager of Nursing/doctor/Health Services Administrator of any events which may necessitate medical intervention
--- Consults family members where indicated to insure that residents' needs are met; evaluates need for permanent or transient stay in hospital
--- Coordinates doctors schedules and assists during appointments
--- Maintains records, charts and files as required
--- Assesses need for additional help or services for residents coordinating with other departments to meet needs
--- Performs related work as required
--- Other duties as assigned by Manager
Broad based knowledge of nursing practices and skill in dealing with geriatric patients and chronic care needs. Knowledge of medical care equipment and its use and operation. Sensitivity and understanding of issues related to aging.
Current California nursing license and qualified to practice in the State of California as an RN. Experience in nursing as would normally be obtained through a minimum of one year nursing experience in an acute and/or geriatric setting.
Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must meet health assessment requirements as regulated by the California Department of Social Services, including TB testing and fingerprint clearance required by Community Care Licensing through the State of California Department of Justice background check bureau. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and/or possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
Depending on facility needs, may have supervisory responsibility for Certified Nursing Assistants
