Job Description:

The Corporate Director of Food & Beverage will oversee management, budget and operation of the food and beverage function for all Mosaic Hotel Group restaurants, including both front and back of house operations. The Director of Food & Beverage will serve as the liaison to the home office to ensure maximum profitability and a delightful guest experience. Working with Restaurant General Managers and Executive Chefs, this position will focus on culinary and operational improvement & standards, team development & training, beverage programs & bar standards as well as partnering with our HR team for related field training. This is a field-based position. In addition, the Director of Food & Beverage will play a key role in the design and strategy of the food & beverage function within future hotel developments and acquisitions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide day to day support, guidance and leadership to our hotel restaurant General ManagersEvaluate and support restaurant operation results to include: service, beverage programs, property maintenance, cost management, etc.Collaborate with hotel General Managers in order to create synergies and enhance the guest experience overallExecute plans to continually improve restaurants' performanceIdentify future leaders and lead management development efforts within our restaurantsProvide onsite leadership during openings and relaunchesFill-in during temporary management vacanciesSpearhead company beverage programs, related development and educationIn conjunction with acquisition team, design and develop restaurant conceptsStay current on food & beverage trends and continually drive innovation within hotel restaurantsQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function from the list above satisfactorily. Work conditions in certain areas of the restaurant/hotel can be hot, cold, wet, slippery and/or noisy. Frequent walking, including climbing up and down stairs are required. Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, kneel, crouch, crawl, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as needed, sometimes for extended periods, and to occasionally lift and carry heavy items up to 40 pounds (may be aided). Ability to see, talk and hear. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:Proficiency in all management aspects in the food & beverage industry, preferably within a hotel environmentProficient in budget, forecast, and overall hotel restaurant financials, including experience with setting strategy and demonstrated success Strong background in service development, evaluation and training.Strong self-management skills; ability to plan and organize to handle high volume work load with multiple priorities and to use time efficiently.Excellent organization and time management abilities.Set example for others by demonstration of core values.Maintain highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.Ability to allocate resources in a cost-conscious environmentAbility to think creatively, present ideas persuasivelySkilled in critical thinking and problem solving with the ability to identify issues and mobilize available resources to eliminate project bottlenecks.Superb communication & listening skills with the ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.A proactive, articulate, and diplomatic yet direct communicator (oral and written)Must be able to successfully work in a team as well as individually to reach a common goal.Ability to effectively lead others to include: staff selection, training, and performance management; working knowledge of wages and hours laws in your state.Overall skills and knowledge of basic mathematical principles and practices.Exceptional attention to detail --- Strong work ethic - willingness to "roll up the shirt sleeves" to get the job done.Takes personal accountability & responsibility for their roleProficient in: Microsoft Office/Excel, Aloha, Point of Sale, Ctuit, Open TableStrong beverage knowledge including craft cocktails, wine and craft beersMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: ---5 years progressive food & beverage leadership experience in a hotel or multi-restaurant entity ---BA or BS equivalent combination of education and experience ---Food Handling Certificate ---Food Safety Certificate ---TIPS CertificatePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Proficient in Spanish language communication both written and verbal
