will provide overall strategic leadership for HR initiatives;
recruitment, compensation, benefits, training and employee
relations that encourage a high-performance culture that emphasizes
quality, goal attainment and accountability.
What you will do:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the
organization's human resource function and performance
- Advise and coach the CEO and leadership team on issues
involving development, recruitment and retention and compensation
strategies to ensure a productive and talented workforce
- Develop and translate strategic and tactical business plans
into HR strategic and operational plans
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning of new
programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items affect the
attraction, motivation, development and retention of the people
resources
- Develop staffing strategies and implementation plans and
programs to identify talent within and outside the organization for
positions of responsibility and embrace applicants and employees of
all backgrounds
- Develop progressive and proactive compensation and benefits
programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for
effective performance and to support recruitment and retention
- Develop human resource planning models to identify competency,
knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs to fill the
identified gaps
- Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and
practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and
markets
- Build and manages a best in class process for assessing and
evaluating the skills and performance of employees
- Oversee employee-relations activities such as employee
orientation and onboarding, recognition and coaching
- Create appropriate policies and programs for effective
management of the people resources of the organization including
employee relations, equal employment opportunity, harassment
prevention, resolution of employee complaints, external education
and career development, among others
- Enhance and implement HR policies and procedures by way of
systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness
of the organization
- Manage the HRIS database and provide necessary reports for
critical analyses of the HR function and the people resources of
the organization
- Provide technical advice and knowledge to others within the
human resource discipline.
- Manages other areas such as, employee communication, employee
safety and health, and workers compensation
- Ensure the consistent application of standards in the
recruitment, management, tracking and recognition of all
volunteers
- Direct, develop and lead comprehensive on-campus volunteer
programs which support staff needs and organizational objectives;
welcome and educate guests; and empower and equip on-campus
volunteers to serve as organizational advocates
- Manage the budget and other financial measures of the HR and
Volunteer departments.
- Evaluate the HR division structure and team plan for continual
improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as
well as for providing individuals with professional and personal
growth opportunities
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 10 years of position-related experience working with
top leadership transforming and changing organizational systems and
culture to increase accountability. A minimum of 5 years
supervisory experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP highly desirable
- Thorough understanding of human resources principles and
practices, and experience in organization(s) of similar scope
- Knowledge of strategic planning and risk management principles
and practices
- Track record of leadership in building teams and setting
priorities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills; mediation and
conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work effectively with and influence diverse
individuals at all levels of the organization
- Experience in strategic planning and implementation
- Ability to use metrics and analytics
- Knowledge of federal and multi-state labor laws
- Strong administrative skills and ability to effectively use MS
Office and HRIS systems
- Aptitude in communicating and public speaking
- Well-organized with excellent leadership qualities
- Working knowledge of organizational planning, compensation,
preventive labor relations, compensation, employee relations, and
training and development
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
