Lead Analytic Consultant

Fair Isaac Corporation is seeking a full-time Lead Analytic Consultant at our offices in San Rafael, CA. The primary duty of the Lead Analytic Consultant is to solve business problems, support decision solutions and provide strategy consulting by assisting with or leading analytic projects. These projects use applied mathematical, science, and engineering processes to identify, analyze, and summarize data patterns for business decisions. This position will drive projects that formulate, design and develop state-of-the-art, data-driven exploratory analysis as well as predictive and decision models to solve business problems across different industries, such as financial services, retail, and auto. Specific duties include: 1) Complete or Lead all steps of a predictive analytic projects, including: define data requirements, gather and validate information, clean up and filter data as needed, define and generate model exclusions and performance definitions, select sampling criteria, find patterns in data and create/select variables most suitable for modeling, make recommendations considering business restrictions and operations constraints, use different types of algorithms, analyzing performance to identify the best algorithms to employ. 2) Perform validation and testing of existing models to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary. 3) Support model deployment by collaborating with IT teams. 4) Apply expertise in credit risk management analytics or marketing analytics. 5) Define project objectives and scope that align with business goals, policy, and regulations. Define and evaluate business problems, capture problem requirements and constraints from external client teams, come up with analytics phased plans to resolve problems. Review project variances against deliverables and identify potential changes. Identify roadblocks and resolution, implement project changes as necessary, and monitor client/internal deadlines. Communicate results in appropriate analytical model format, present reports and give presentations to internal and external clients and recommend solutions. 6) Program or lead teams that program using object-oriented languages, such as C++/Java/SRL/Groovy, and using scripting language such as Python or Perl to manipulate data for purposes of model development and model deployments. 7) Help establish direction and set priorities for project team members and lead project tasks. 8) Participate in pre-sales support and/or provide post-implementation support. 9) Mentor or supervise 0-5 employees serving in the role of Consultant I (Analytics) and/or more senior consultants. Position could evolve to a supervisory or management position within 3-5 years. 10) Contribute to developing team, including participating in the interview process. 11) Contribute to process improvement and supporting key strategic initiatives. Domestic and international travel required up to 20% of the time. May split time between a home office in the San Rafael, CA area and a FICO office in the San Rafael, CA area.

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science and Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field and five (5) years of related progressive post-baccalaureate experience. Experience must include three (3) years of experience, which may be concurrent, in all of the following: 1) Defining data requirements, processing, cleaning, manipulating and investigating data. 2) Data analysis, apply statistical tests, variable generation, and determining data suitability for modeling. Sampling, algorithm selection, defining modeling target and exclusions, building predictive or decision models. Model validation and testing. 3) Programming using object-oriented languages including C++/Java/SRL/Groovy, and using scripting language Python to manipulate data for purposes of model development and model deployments. 4) Applying expertise in credit risk management analytics or marketing analytics. 5) Defining and evaluating business problems, capturing problem requirements and constraints from external client teams, communicating work results and presenting reports to internal and external clients, recommending solutions. 6) Experience using a minimum of two analytic tools including SAS, R, Python, SQL, Model Builder. 7) Conducting all steps of a predictive analytics projects. Support project objectives and scope that align with business goals, policy, and regulations. Reviewing project variances against deliverables and identify potential changes. Helping identify roadblocks and resolutions, implementing project changes as necessary, and monitoring client/internal deadlines. Setting priorities for junior project team members and leading project tasks, ensuring projects adhere to proposed internal and client timelines, foreseeing and troubleshooting roadblocks. Domestic and international travel required up to 20% of the time. All experience may have been gained concurrently. Experience must have been acquired after completion of the Bachelor's Degree program. May split time between a home office in the San Rafael, CA area and a FICO office in the San Rafael, CA area.
