- The Cardiovascular Cell Biology group at Client is seeking a
SRA2 with experience in modeling cardiovascular disease using a
broad range of in vitro models, particularly in the context of
evaluating novel therapeutic approaches using gene-edited or
patient-derived iPSC lines.

- He/She is a highly motivated and driven cell biologist with
experience in iPS cardiomyocyte differentiation, who develops
approaches to model human cardiovascular disease "in a dish" for
new and existing internal cardiac projects.
- The successful candidate will often take on the Cell Biology
Functional Lead role in Team-based projects and therefore must be
able to work collaboratively.
- The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter, with
clear passion to progress Her/His in vitro technical scientific
skills, generate highly impactful data, and an ability to thrive in
a fast-paced colloborative team environment.
- He/She will communicate scientific findings at Team Meetings,
as well as at several forums throughout the company.
- She/He will partner closely with research associates, senior
research associates and scientists within the cardiovascular
research group, and other functional groups within Research to
support the discovery and pre-clinical development of a wide-range
of therapeutic modalities. This is a full-time lab-based
position.Responsibilities
- Takes on a leadership role to bring in new technical skills,
leads the development, evaluation, and implementation of
state-of-the-art cell-based disease models to identify novel
therapeutic interventions.
- This exploratory cell biology work will contribute to our
understanding of the mechanisms of cardiac disease pathogenesis,
and will also provide preclinical proof-of-concept data to guide in
the development of novel and safe therapeutics for inherited
cardiac diseases with unmet need.
- Work as the in vitro Team lead in the development of a novel
therapeutic for an inherited cardiac disease.
- Perform cell biology work, publish findings in high-impact
journals and present research at major conferences.
- Effectively partner with the program team, other SRAs and
scientists to develop and execute on the program's strategic
plan.
- Present program data at a range of internal forums, including
Research Seminars.
- Work closely as part of a highly focused and passionate team of
in vitro cardiovascular scientists
- Lead or contribute to study synopses, protocols, study reports
and publications arising from Team projects.Skills
- Experience with expanding, differentiating and characterizing
gene-edited or patient iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes, and modeling
human cardiovascular disease "in a dish" is preferable.
- Excellent working cell biology experience in at least one of
the following: functional cardiomyocyte assays, experience with
culturing iPS-derived cardiomyocytes, isolation and maintenance of
primary cardiac cells, monitoring cardiac cell function with cardio
xCELLigence or by high speed calicum imaging, confocal microscopy,
force traction microscopy, high content microscopy, live cell
imaging, DNA editing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Education
- Required: A Master's degree with strong experience in
cardiovascular research and cardiovascular physiology, pharmacology
or a related subject area.Education & Experience Level
- MS with 1+ year of industry experience; BS with 5+ years. Very
strong technical and analytical skills. Must be a team player.
