The Stanford Department of Pediatrics is committed to advancing the health of infants, children, and adolescents through innovative medical care, research, education, training, and advocacy. The Department currently has about 150 faculty with active awards, -90 research postdocs, -110 clinical/research fellows, -525 active external awards, -$60M of externally funded research, and -$51M of internally/gift funded research. Stanford University is seeking a Research Administrator 2 to join our dynamic Office of Pediatric Research Development (). Under direction of the Assistant Director of Pre-Award Research Administration, this position will work closely with faculty and staff to manage the proposal preparation process for sponsored projects, such as federal grants, foundation grants, and industrial contracts. Acting as a resource for Faculty and staff, the RA2 will assist with questions that arise during the pre-award grant or fellowship process, collect, review, and upload proposal components prior to submission. This position will also oversee and serve as the point of contact for the Department's PI waiver internal approval process. This is a 100% FTE, continuing, exempt position. This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. Duties Include:--- Participate with principal investigator in the preparation of the administrative components of proposals. Initiate internal and external application requirements on behalf of Principal Investigators (PIs).--- Compile and review documents for completeness and compliance--- Interpret sponsor guidelines and provide guidance on required components for grant submission--- Serve as point of contact between PI, Research Management Group (RMG), other departments/institutions participating in proposal applications--- Track status of pending awards and agreements to ensure processing in a timely manner.--- Oversee the Department's PI Waiver approval system--- Serve as a resource on subject area to principal investigator and staff--- Participate in and contribute to process improvements, group, and special projects--- Other duties as assigned * - Other duties may also be assignedStanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the University reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs. The pay range for this position working in the California Bay area is between $85,000 to $108,000 and remote $68,000 to $91,000 based on commensurate experience and background. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:CRA or CPRA certification desired EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED): Bachelor's degree and three years of job related experience, or combination of education and experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):--- Basic knowledge of governmental regulations.--- Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate policies and procedures.--- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.--- Excellent analytical skills; demonstrated proficiency in Excel and web-based tools.--- Strong accounting skills; knowledge of accounting principles.--- Ability to complete Cardinal Curriculum I and II within first year in role.--- Knowledge of procurement needs, including sole-sourcing, cost analyses, vendor requirements, and small business reporting. --- Knowledge of property management requirements related to Stanford or non-Stanford title of equipment and fabrications. --- Competency in project management.--- Extreme attention to detail.--- Ability to work well independently, but also to seek or offer assistance when needed. --- Ability to review a proposal or manage a project with understanding of the overall scope and goal of each sponsored project. --- Excellent time management and organizational skills. CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES: --- Cardinal Curriculum I and II must be completed to remain in this position.
