Under the direction of the Program Manager, and under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Early Head Start Home Visitor for Expectant Families, is responsible for the overall implementation of an integrated, family focused, home based program serving pregnant women, post-partum women and their families. 6. Professionalism Who we are looking for:
+Someone who has, at minimum, a Home Based CDA or a comparable credential or equivalent coursework in Early Childhood Education, Social work or health care. Units in infant-toddler and knowledge of health topic related to prenatal and postnatal issues desired.
+Knowledge of infant toddler development, family interaction and community resources desired.
+A minimum of two years related work experience working with diverse low-income families preferred.
+Demonstrated ability to create and maintain healthy boundaries with clients
+Problem solving and conflict resolution skills
+Basic computer skills required
+Strong English skills both oral and written form required
+Bi-lingual English/Spanish required
+Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards preferred
+Time management skills
+Hold a valid California driver's license and Evidence of reliable insured transportation
+Obtain a Criminal Record Clearance with current Child Abuse Index Check on file with Community Care Licensing.
+Successfully complete an employment physical and provide proof of the absence of TB within 7 days of hire date.
+Physical agility to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds.
+Gross Motor physical ability to bend, stoop, walk, reach overhead, push, pull, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, and turn.
+Fine Motor physical ability to grasp, pull, twist, and grip Community Action Marin is the largest human services provider in Marin County and is the designated by the County Board of Supervisors as the "official anti-poverty agency" for Marin County. Since 1966, Community Action Marin has provided an array of services to low-income residents. The scope of those services has changed over the years to meet the emerging needs of low-income people in Marin and today includes Marin Head Start, Child Development Program, Central Kitchen, Early Childhood Workforce Development, Financial Literacy and Career Counseling, Energy Assistance, Volunteer Income Tax Preparation, CARE Homeless Outreach Teams, Peer Mental Health, Emergency Family Needs, Family Partnership, and Patients' Rights Advocacy. Community Action Marin partners with 4,000 individuals, children, and families every year. Community Action Marin is governed by a tri-partite Board of Directors, consisting of elected public officials or their appointees, representatives of the Agency's client population and individuals from the private sector. This unique board structure empowers clients to participate in the response to local poverty issues while at the same time public and private representatives gain a better understanding of those issues confronting low-income people in Marin. These members offer their unique perspectives and expertise to the policy-making and business of Community Action Marin.
