The Pet Emergency and Specialty Center of Marin (www.pescm.com)
is looking for a Full Time Registered Veterinary Technician to join
our new Neurology department, Tuesday- Friday, 830AM-7 PM.About
PESCM: PESCM, located in San Rafael, is the only 24/7 emergency and
specialty practice in Marin County. We continue to see record
breaking cases in all departments: Internal Medicine, Oncology,
Surgery, Neurology, Urgent Care, Emergency, and Critical Care. Our
mission is to serve pets and people by continually pushing to
improve our medicine, our service, our communication, and
ourselves. PESCM utilizes the cloud-based management software
system, Ezyvet, which integrates with an iPad accessible patient
treatment sheet software, Smartflow, for a paperless billing system

Veterinary Technicians at PESCM are responsible for a variety of
tasks related to customer service and patient care within the
veterinary practice. In addition to veterinary technician skills
such as patient restraint, administering medications, IV catheter
placement, and phlebotomy, technicians in the Neurology department
will be responsible for the following:About the Job: As an RVT in
the Neurology Department you will be responsible for:Solid
technical skills and anesthesia knowledge base, sound judgment, and
the ability to function both independently and with a team are
requiredVenipuncture; IV catheter placement; medication
calculations and administration; digital radiography; patient prep
and recovery; epidural administration; anesthesia monitoring for a
variety of anesthetized procedures including, but not limited to,
CT and MRIAssisting doctors during patient appointments, providing
outstanding client communication and educationPerforming sterile
scrub and assist doctors throughout surgical procedures Advocating
for the patient, providing exceptional comfort, diagnostic,
surgical, and nursing care to all patientsKnowledge of the
equipment and materials used and their availability and
applicationsAbility to work occasional holidays/weekends, and OT as
needed About You:Minimum 2 years experience in the veterinary field
with strong anesthesia experience a mustStrong communication
skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive
thinking and a positive attitude are also a mustAccuracy in
calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and
CRIsProficiency in record keeping related to medical procedures
including daily treatments administered, patient status, procedures
completed, supplies used, and anesthetic recordsReview and
understanding of all medical records pertinent to patient
careComprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic
monitoring is requiredRVT or VTS preferred Ability to work in a
highly collaborative environment and a commitment to developing
long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is
requiredMaintain a positive outlook and ability to work well in
stressful situationsThe ability to deliver exceptional client
service is a priorityAbility to work in a highly collaborative
