The Pet Emergency and Specialty Center of Marin (www.pescm.com) is looking for Full Time Veterinary Technician to join our Weekend overnight Emergency and Critical Care department. We have immediate openings for Friday-Sunday, 8PM-830AM. These are 3-12 hour shifts and come with an additional $2/hour shift differential for the overnight and an additional $2/hour weekend differential. This position is eligible for a 3000$ Sign-On Bonus for the right candidate!About PESCM: PESCM, located in San Rafael, is the only 24/7 emergency and specialty practice in Marin County. We continue to see record breaking cases in all departments: Internal Medicine, Oncology, Surgery, Neurology, Urgent Care, Emergency, and Critical Care. Veterinary Technicians at PESCM are responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary practice. In addition to veterinary technician skills such as patient restraint, administering medications, IV catheter placement, and phlebotomy, technicians in the Emergency departments will be responsible for the following:

• Set up CRIs and calculate medical math
• Place indwelling urinary catheters
• Place jugular catheters
• Provide quality, compassionate care for hospitalized patients
• Prepare and administer transfusions: Blood, Plasma, Albumin
• Assist in surgeries and other sedated procedures
• Maintain accurate treatment sheets
• Take radiographs and obtain and prepare various blood samples for diagnostic testing
• Use of mechanical ventilators for anesthesia
• Provide client education on a wide range of at home careAbout You:
  • RVT preferred but 2 years experience minimum necessary
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring
  • Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
  • Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Understanding of normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
  • Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.
