SAP Accounting Consultant

Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a SAP Accounting Consultant for a contract to hire position in San Rafael, CA. The opportunity will be one year with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Position Summary:

Bring expert knowledge and experience on SAP S/4 Hana ERP system implementation and general ledger accounting close.
Apply best practices in system design, processes, hands-on UAT testing, issue resolutions, and successful go-live.
Support a smooth close with U.S. GAAP accounting experience.

Collaborate in the office on Tuesday and Thursday, while Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are remote.
Part of a global company with teams across NAM, EMEA, APAC, and other regions.
Role is part of the U.S. accounting team and reports to the Director, U.S. Controllership.
Contract position with a one-year term, not eligible for conversion to an employee.


Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

SAP ERP System Implementation (80%)Act as a liaison between the U.S. controllership accounting team and the ERP Implementation team.
Support SAP S/4 Hana ERP system design, setup, processes, system integration testing (SIT), master data load (MDL), user acceptance testing (UAT), issue resolution, prep for go-live, and post go-live support.
Support areas including cash and investments, payroll, prepaids, accruals, intercompany, Blackline, fixed assets and WBS capital projects, WBS R&D, leases, expense allocations, product allocations.
Perform SAP testing, identify issues, and work with the ERP Implementation team and accounting team to resolve issues.
Document system processes/workflows and train the accounting team on usage, share knowledge, and prepare the accounting team for go-live.
Create SAP SOPs and provide overview training in accounting areas.


Accounting Close (20%)Prepare journal entries (e.g., prepaid addition/amortization, accruals, and other journals as applicable).
Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
Prepare income statement and balance sheet flux analysis and provide flux comments.
Ensure income statement and balance sheet are accurate, timely, and compliant with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.




Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required or equivalent accounting experiences.
Required:SAP S/4 Hana implementation and hands-on super user experience.
SAP S/4 Hana UAT experience.
Minimum 3 years' accounting experience in General Ledger Accounting, with hands-on GL financial close responsibilities.
Experience in Record to Report and knowledge in Source to Pay workstreams.
Excellent in Excel and data analytics.


Bonus Points:Publicly traded company financial accounting and internal controls experience.
