We also create our own IP across our portfolio of companies in the US and the UK ranging from engaging children's books and crafts to bestselling culinary, entertaining and lifestyle products. -- Insight Editions is looking for an experienced Export Sales Specialist to join our enterprising, high performing domestic & international sales and operations teams. You will be responsible for export sales and customer service to key partners in assigned World English territories. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of our annual budget and overall sales performance including sales forecasting, territory and expense management, inventory control, demand planning and product promotions. -- The ideal candidate for Export Sales Specialist role is a proven seller with prior experience in publishing or related CPG product sales in World English markets (including but not limited to the UK, Australia, New Zealand, India, and other key territories). You have a record of maintaining a relentless focus on increasing both revenue and profit by actively growing the distribution of our frontlist new releases and supporting our evergreen portfolio of product lines to existing and new customers. -- This position reports to the Sales Director and works in close conjunction with our global export partners, Support Specialists and Export Distribution Managers. This is position is also open to working remotely. -- Required Qualifications 5+ Years of publishing export sales and/or industry specific sales experience Ability to travel as needed (minimum of 20%) Key Responsibilities Prospect and identify growth opportunities in order to achieve territory sales targets on a quarterly and annual basis Develop strategic and tactical action plans by account, in conjunction with the Sales Director, to increase sales Provide information on forthcoming titles, inventory levels, order status, etc. to international distributors, sales representatives, and customers Help prepare for international book fairs-including scheduling meetings, preparing sales reports, shipping materials, and assisting with follow-up Prepare timely and accurate reports regarding forecasts, sales, market activity, and current status of major accounts Manage inventory in each territory, negotiate discounts and custom projects to company P&L requirements, and work to clear rights in additional territories as needed Share market information including competitive promotions, contract prices, new products, new applications and customer needs with management Fully develop product knowledge and data analysis applications to be a subject matter expert for our distribution partners Possess the ability to work independently as well as contribute to overall team performance Performs other duties as required Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge and understanding of international markets, with particular emphasis on the UK and Commonwealth territories Expert skill in key account management across multiple product lines Expert ability to analyze POS, inventory, and competitive data Advanced to expert proficiency with the following computer software applications: Microsoft Office Suite CRM Database Software Proven ability to drive cross-functional projects end-to-end Strong, customer-focused sales and service philosophy Effective, clear, and concise communication skills, verbal and written Propensity to present clear information to executives, cross-functional teams, and internal customers Ability to prioritize, multi-task, manage resources across multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines Highly motivated, productive, and detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills Effective presentation skills and communication abilities in both internal and external situations, including corporate leadership, brand partners, digital agencies and internal departments Ability to act with the highest levels of integrity and professionalism at all times Ability to stay calm under pressure and to remain focused on goals while navigating unforeseen changes and critical feedback -- This is a full-time position located in San Rafael, CA.
