Job Description Histotechnologist Union City, CA The Histotechnologist performs routine and specialized histology procedures to support research and preclinical studies. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality tissue specimens and ensuring accurate and timely processing in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Responsibilities Perform tissue fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining Prepare slides for histological evaluation, including H&E, special stains, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) Maintain accurate documentation and sample tracking Operate and maintain histology laboratory equipment Follow established SOPs and ensure compliance with quality standards Assist in method development and optimization of staining protocols Collaborate with scientists and pathologists to meet study objectives Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance Qualifications / Requirements Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Histotechnology, Biology, or related field HT (ASCP) certification preferred 2–5 years of histology experience preferred Proficiency in microtomy, embedding, and staining techniques Experience with IHC and digital pathology systems is a plus Strong attention to detail and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team
